Continuing Education Courses
In the spring of 2009 I taught my first Quilted Fabric Picture class through Saratoga Spring's Continuing Education program. This
5-week class focused on making simple pictures and embellishment techniques. My students were great! About half of them have been
quilting for years; their willingness to experiment with fabric and work without a pattern lead to some awesome discoveries about how
fabric can speak to the sewer. The other folks had not sewn a lot in years; they were able to create incredible pictures and then sew their
vision together.

I was reminded of the sense of community as we all exchanged ideas and suggestions and techniques. Thank you to each of my
students - Lynn, Judy, Kathy, Ingrid, Kathy, Marion, Annette, and Barbara. You made my first adult education sewing class such an
enjoyable time. Look at what the ladies in my spring 2009 and spring 2010 classes created!

UPDATE - FALL 2010:
In the fall of 2010 I will be teaching classes through Saratoga Springs and Niskayuna's Continuing Education Programs: Beginning
Fabric Pictures and Intermediate Fabric Pictures. If you are in the Saratoga area and are interested in attending, visit the Saratoga
Springs City School District's continuing education site
. I will link to the Niskayuna website when it is available.
Are you signed up for a class? Here is the supply list for Saratoga's Beginning Quilted Fabric Pictures, and here is the list for
Niskayuna's Intermediate Quilted Fabric Pictures.
Skidmore College
In the fall of 2008, I worked as a consultant to teach a class of Skidmore students how to design
and create fabric pictures. These students traveled to South Africa in spring 2009 as part of the
South Africa Educational Study Program. Find several websites about this project in my links.
